ERICSBERG.We at Centralantikvariatet are proud to be able to present Nordic history from the large library at Ericsberg Castle in Södermanland, just south of Stockholm. This will be done in three richly illustrated catalogues. 1. From
the Saga Age to the Vasa Era
The first catalogue Nordisk historia. Från sagatid till
vasatid. contains
246 items of books from the 15th to 19th centuries concerning the
migration period and the Icelandic sagas, both of which in older
Swedish history tradition were considered "Swedish History", as well as
older litterature concerning Sweden until the beginning of the reign of
Gustav II Adolf. In addition it includes Danish history, with the same
perspectives, including Norway and Iceland and touches on the Baltic
states, Russia, Poland and northern Germany. The catalogue is written
in Swedish and costs SEK 150. Download the catalogue in pdf format.
The second catalogue, Trettioåriga kriget, contains 473 items, all contemporary or near contemporary material. The library of Ericsberg contains an almost unique collection of contemporary broadsheets and pamphlets from the Thirty Years War. In addition the catalogue contains a nice selection of near contemporary historical writings on the war, the peace process and the protagonists. Baron Carl Jedvard Bonde at Ericsberg was one of the foremost collectors of this material at a time when it was in highest fashion. The catalogue is written in Swedish and costs SEK 200.
